I will be in negril and i was wondering if anyone can give me some points of interest. i will be doing some diving of course but what else. I will be alone and looking to spend as little as possible. never been, looking forward to going. if anyone is looking for a dive buddy let me know, i am always looking for a cheap trip and some one to go with thanks..

Just got back from Negril last week. Had a blast. Stayed at the Rockhouse the first few days for a friend's wedding, then went to Couples all-inclusive for the 2nd half of the week.

A great dive shop is Sun Divers. I cannot remember the dive leader's name - did write it down in my log book though.

Dives:
Deep Plane - 90'
Shallow Plane & Arches - ~45'
Throne Room - 50'

These are the top 3 sites, there is one more, but I do not remember the name - I did not do it. My wife is only OW cert, so I did the Deep Plane without her. Saw a 7' nurse shark, a few dolphins, a nice sized ray and a turtle over the course of 6 dives.

Things on top:
Rick's Cafe - cliff jumping from about 45' up - kind of flashy/showy - very famous for the playboy bunnies and rolling stones hang-out in the 70's/early 80's.
Pirate's Cave - cliff jumping from about 42' - way more low-key than Rick's, quaint place. The owner has some GREAT old newspaper clippings if you ask about them.
A few good restaurants. My wife had a favorite, but I cannot remember the name - nice ambiance, walk along the 7-mile beach afterwards.

If you are going solo, I would hit Sun Divers right away and get in with them. Young crowd, may be able to give ideas/hangout, etc.

Have fun! My wife and I had a blast! It was her first non-cert dives and she loved the 82-84 degree water.

Sun Divers is a great little dive shop, run by Myron and Emilee. Tell 'em Hedo Dean says hello!

Ricks Cafe is fun to see once and then move on. The drink and food prices are way too high. Very much aimed at tourists who don't know any better. It is a good place to see a sunset.

Very near by is LTU Pub which I hear is very good and much less pricey, but I've never been there.

Almost next door to LTU is Rockhouse Resort and Restaraunt. VERY good food, a little pricey, great sunsets.

Down the cliff a little closer to town is Xtabi Resort and Restaraunt. Excellent food, nice little bar, great sunsets. The Wife & I's personal favorite for dinner and a sunset on our anniversary.

One the beach is Kuyaba, a local diner and resort. Very good food, a little more local flavor. Nice for beach scene sunsets. Good for lunch and dinner. OK little bar. You could eat here and then walk the beach for a while. The place next door has pretty good night life but I can't remember the name.

For a smaller but popular place on the beach for good food is Cosmos. Much more local flavor, much less costly. Good place to grab a decent meal and hang around for a while.

You can do Magaritaville on the beach but the prices are high. I've been
