Hey Guys. So I just purchased a Mares Dragon AT. It has rear trim pockets. I'm trying to figure out what weight distribution to start with. People seem to say that 60/40 front to back is a good starting point for a rear-inflation BC. I haven't seen any suggestions in terms of a regular jacket-inflation BC. Also, the Dragon AT is sort of a hybrid of the two, w/ some of the air being stored around the tank Anyone have any suggestions on general jacket-style weight distribution? Any suggestions on Dragon AT weight distribution in particular? Cheers

Dunno.. Never had a jacket BC. I'd guess that it really depends on the person. For what its worth, I'd try moving small amounts of weight to the trim pockets at first and slowly adjust as needed. It will probably take a few dives for you to get the trim right where you want it.

In my SeaQuest Balance (back inflate) while I wore my 7mm suit, I ended up putting 7 lbs in each integrated ditchable pocket, and 4 lbs in each trim pocket. Your milage may vary.

Ice,

What type of tank did you dive with those weights? Steel 100's or 80's?

I agree, you're going to have to do some trial and error testing to see what the right balance is for you. Start with 1/3 in the rear and adjust from there.
