Lauren, I can't give you an honest answer. I don't know if the housing/camera together is positively buoyant or not. I know my old reefmaster was like a freakin bobber so I did buy the weight for it. Maybe someone else can give us some input on the buoyancy of the outfit. Thanks, Greg

My A70/WP-DC700 combo just barely floated. Only a small portion of it would stick out of the water once it had a chance to reach an equilibrium. I thought this was perfect because it wasn't a hassle underwater whatsoever, and above it would float if dropped in. Hope this helps...

I would never risk multi days diving on a card - superstitious, I know.

I can speak from experience here. My camera flooded during a vacation last year. While Canon replace the camera and the case, it was the card that did not stand the test of time. I had two cards, but no separate storage device. It was only with a great deal of luck that I managed to save the photos from the card. The folks at my local photo shop had some recovery software (and now so do I) that worked great. I don't think that I lost any shots, but the card became useless.

I know what I want for Xmas this year.

Thanks for the link to the other thread Alcina.

Ted
