Is that chain really hooked to the diver as it appears to be?

nope, chained to the reef

Catherine:
like Sunday, I pulled to the curb, unloaded my stuff, yacking away with people, got on the boat, left my car with the doors open and the keys in it!

Lucky you didn't forget Marley in it too! ;)

I agree. Sometimes it is just soo funny. However, then you realize these guys should have had a few more hours in the pool before they went to open water.

I really don't remember that part. But I do other stuff... like Sunday, I pulled to the curb, unloaded my stuff, yacking away with people, got on the boat, left my car with the doors open and the keys in it!

Hey, you're on an island, right? How far could a would-be thief get with it? Or maybe you drive a Mini Cooper that they could just put in their carry-on bag...

excuse me...what pool? Most Intros don't ever see a pool. I am not convinced some of them can swim. I am just a casual observer usually, mind you...

But, no pool. One company Aquazone does.

They can clean it out for parts within an hour.:(

you have to. new divers can be so..cute. Giant stride, sink like rock, bounce on butt.

I usually try not to look. We try and take them to the moonscape in an urchin free zone. Puts trim in a whole new light.

Wow.......... such a contrast, when I learnt to dive we weren't allowed into the sea until we completed many hours of pool work and our buoyancy was good enough to not threaten marine life and each other...

Leesa, which operators? Do you agree 80% never get in a pool here on Discover Scuba? It is not required, right? I was on a boat one day and this operator asks me to watch a certified guy who "needed a little help". When we got in, it looked like he did not know how to swim. I basically carried him by the scruff of his BC to the bottom of the mooring line and just sat there trying to wait until there was some semblance of propulsion, some coherent movement....anything at all. I don't know where some of these divers come from. I almost asked him if he could swim when we were back on the boat. Very nice man, I might add.

And you can bet that they were not aware of you taking pictures...
