1. "roughty-toughty" What the heck? First of all, why is there a "t" on the end of those words? Secondly, since when is diving rough and tough? I always thought of it as calm and relaxing. "Rough and tough" diving would be a game of speargun tag
2. They seem to have only examined OW divers. I would be very interested to see the results broken down by certification level, certification agency, age, number of dives, and gender. Also, what about cave divers? I think that if you examine cave divers you will find that both women and men are very good at bouyancy control. And if you put them on a reef they wouldn't destroy it!
3. What this means is that men will find the dive site, and potentially damage it, while women will get lost and burn up extra fuel trying to drive there, also harming the environment by releasing greenhouse gasses. Which is the greater evil?
4. What they say about how women and men navigate on land is pretty much correct, according to my psych class. It kind of makes sense, but it doesn't mean that men will run into reefs....men aren't stupid! Also, women are still more likely to get lost underwater, as they will navigate by rocks and such, if a few of them look the same...... Men might also get lost, but they are, according to my psych book, more likely to use vectors and things like compasses to figure their way back. Of course, being underwater is nice. Can't really ask anyone for directions that easily, so the wife can't nag you for never asking
