We are visiting Rome in June and from there will probably go South to Sorrento but we haven't booked accomodations yet. Family of 4, 2 of us dive, fairly inexperienced (5 dives, 2 of which were in the Disney Epcot aquarium). I see 2 sites, Underwater Park of Baie and Underwater Park of Gaiola. Which would you recommend and which operators would you recommend? If possible I'd like to find something where the 2 non-divers could snorkel or tour while we dive.

Thanks in advance.

(I posted this in the Western Europe thread but thought I'd try here after receiving no responses.)

I have dived in the UW Park at Baie. The dive was very easy and fairly shallow. My daughter and I dived with Centro Sub Campi Flegrei The dives are only conducted a few days out of the week so best to plan ahead. If you stay in the Sorrento area allow yourself a good hour and a half to get to the other side of Naples where the dive site is. We did the dive in the AM then class made Vesuvios in the afternoon. Then back to Sorrento for dinner.

How was it? Last year we stayed in a part of Naples that was actually pretty close to Campi Flegrei, and we were tempted but ultimately decided to spend our time doing other things. Did we miss out?

By dive stands a very easy (20') flat dive...but the thought of the history you were diving was tremendous. I highly recommend anyone who might have the chance to do the dive. I have a cousin who got married down the Almafi Coast and my daughter and I were trying to get back to do another dive (3 years after our first one) but with the wedding the night before just not enough time. I want to take my GF there now.
