What will happen if the mask comes off at depth?

Will the water pressure cause instant sever ear pain if the mask is removed or comes off accidentally when you are in deep water?

No, because you still need to equalise your ears as you descend. The benefit of the Pro-Ear mask is that it will keep your ears dry if it doesn't leak. All masks leak at some point. Still, it might be beneficial to someone who develops otitis externa after diving on a regular basis. The manufacturers claim that it makes equalisation easier. Having dived with one for several years, I'm not sure this is true.
