We have been using Twin Lake almost every weekend since the beginning of July.
Last Sunday the visibility was 10-12 feet. The water level is a bit lower than earlier this summer, but the way the access is designed it is quite easy to enter the water. The past water level problems due to the factory/hotel/subdivision are history. The water is much higher than a number of other local lakes.
More importantly, the owner/manager Mike has invested a significant amount of time and money upgrading the place in the last couple of years. Access is now by a set of concrete stairs, a short ramp, and the floating dock. There are also a number of overhead covered pavillions and freshwater showers near the pavillions. You do not have to worry about hurting yourself falling down an access ramp or down a steep dock that is totally aground.
Mike is also concerned with making sure that the facilty is kept up. In the last few weeks, we have assisted him with the replacement of the cables on two platforms and the movement of another to insure that they are spaced properly. The one platform that is partially aground is also in the process of being towed to deeper water.
We particularly like the fact that Mike and Karen (Assistant Manager) are concerned about the safety of the divers and security of diver's equipment. Thankfully they do not allow the consumption of alcohol nor condone inappropriate conduct such the theft or tampering with other divers' gear.
