Does anyone on the island use Steel tanks or 100's? I know in Coz Aldora's do. I am considering between going to Isla Mujers and Cozumel. I have been to Coz before and loved it dove with Aldora. but want to do the Whale shark in Aug. The whole trip willbe based around seeing the whale sharks. Also want to do a day of cenote diving.

No steel tanks, nobody there like Aldora. Dumb down your expectations or you're in for a world of disappointment. Aldora does more diving in a month as a single op in Cozumel than all the dive ops combined on Isla Mujeres do in a year. It's a very, very small dive community on Isla Mujeres.

The diving in Cozumel is very consistently good. The diving in Isla Mujeres is like a jagged graph with massive peaks of awesome dives with a whale shark, manta rays, hammer heads, dolphins, eagle rays along with the valleys of boring dives that make you wonder why you even bothered...

In general the diving around Isla Mujeres is sub-par to Cozumel, but because some of the sites are more open ocean like, the chances of seeing anything are possible. So you could spend a week with nothing to tell but stories of boring dives or you could spend a week diving there and have a tale of just an awesome encounter that won't be duplicated in Cozumel no matter how many times you dive there.

Hello RDRINK25, my name is Alvaro Gonzalez, I run Alwaysdiving in Cancun, we have been teaching and conducting divers for over 32 years in this area of Mexico, Cancun, Cenotes, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos and The Mayan Riviera, we do also Whale sharks, however nobody does scuba diving with them, the sea conditions and regulations don´t permit us to do it, we only do snorkeling with them, believe me it will be one of the best experiences of your life. In Cancun we have so many different reefs where we can dive, all of them with an amazing amount of sea life, WE ARE THE ONLY ONES IN CANCUN WHO HAS STEEL 100´S TANKS, check about us here Always Diving & Water Sports - Cancun - Reviews of Always Diving & Water Sports - TripAdvisor or take a look to our videos here alwaysdiving - YouTube We believe in making friens not costumers, you´ll not regreat. Best regards from the paradise to all.
