@211ratsbud , @Steel_Stalk - I am surprised that you still have a unit exhibiting this behavior. I was under an impression that most of those units were either fixed or got rotated out of the market. I am getting > 12 hours on APECS battery as tested on two controllers I own. 9V has been stable.

@Ahereng - have you looked at the Shearwater conversion by ISC?

The Meg conversion will be similar. However, a Tiburon head is $7K, so at what price will the conversion make sense? Also, what happens to all the ports? Meg 15 has 2 primary, 2 secondary ports. Are we going to lose 2 and have only Controller + Monitor? Finally, can we get normal connectors, like from iQsub?

My handset batteries are fine, the 9v batteries last < ~7 days if I leave them in the head. I switched out all of my 9v alkaline for rechargeable lithium and pull them out after a weekend of diving.

Did you look into getting a box with "on/off" switch?

@mr_v : I know about the 2.7->Shearwater conversion.
If Meg15-Shw conversion would be just new electronics-box and reprogramming of my Petrel2 as controller it could be interesting. But as I have the Remora-controller and my old Apecs4 as backup, and my 9v batteries lasts long enough that I don't remember when I changed them, I guess I will be running my current setup for hopefully a long time(Knock on wood etc.).

I’m moderately envious. As much as the upgrade sounds great, I would rather put what will likely be thousands towards continuing training or dive trips but it seems like the electronics module is going out on my unit and should probably be replaced as soon as an upgrade is available.

Talked to ISC. It's a whole head rebuild to include a Shearwater controller. Price around $5K.
Unclear if the connections remain Subconn, if not I will have to get a new connector for my Nerd.
