Is WB101QR OK to use as QR weight pockets in place of a weight belt?

WB101QR - Quick-Release Single Weight Pocket.

Is it designed to be used as a complete replacement for a ditchable weight belt?

And if it is, is there any thought to making the pull tab a brighter color for safety?
