Don't me take 100% sure , but I think that SANTI uses some special glue for their suits . When I was on SANTI demo days in Krnica , Croatia I have short talk with their CEO Tomasz Stachura

( meantime he measured me ) . They have some different textile fabrics than others (elastic ) and have probably differend bond energy to surface ( like POM )

But might be some solution ( have specialist for plastic & bonding in department ) .... that is treatment of surface with oxygen plazma ( nothing so frustrating ;-)) one article for instance

http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/0801/0801.3727.pdf Fast local transit through the area might help to glue work better (ont burn suit but parameters must be adjusted for textile ) .

It looks like that Surface Treatment of Metals | Plasma Cleaning | Plasma Treatment | Plasma Cleaning | Dyne Technology.

From same or equal reason problems with glue Santi refused to repair URSUIT drysuits which couses them leaks ( they also have repair service in Poland )

In same case some producer don't glue TiZip's because glue is not compatibile with both fabrics and plastics ( saskin , dui )... so you have to know material spec mainly is

problem overlay nylon which gives membranesuit strength and some elasticity and butyl waterproofing in our case (nylon-butyl fabrics )

I also don't know name of SANTI glue ,sorry :-( f

Ding ding, we have a winner. A couple of conversations later that looks to be the likely cause. Cheers.

Just had inflator gasket changed on my Santi suit to work with Thermovalve, my suit had Sitech valves which are narrower and gasket is internal, Thermovalve is same as Apeks so external gasket was fitted and hole made larger.

i got the suit back today and it looks like this. Is this normal and ok to use or does it need to be returned? Cheers

is it waterproof?

No idea, I'll find out on Saturday.

If you look at post #6 you can see it's coming apart quite badly at the top as well as the bottom, almost half the diameter.

I've had several conversations with person who did repair and glue might be the issue. It has been agreed I send back and they will re do it.

Well... if you look at it in the big picture, being waterproof is the main thing. It doesn't look quite right to me but if it's holding water then it's doing its job.

I agree, of course it being waterproof is the main thing but when you pay $100 for something I don't think it's too much to expect a professional finish and a peeling gasket does not look professional nor tidy. Maybe I'm being too being pedantic I don't know. Did you see photo in post #6? A large area is now coming away from the suit. It's a new suit. Would you accept it?

I guess it no longer matters as suit will be returned and re done.

Agreed. Sloppy work never inspires confidence. And this is sloppy work.
