Is this a good price for Halcyon system.

Either way, you need cam bands. NESS wll sell you cam bands and weight pouches for $120..

Just the gravy please. DRE sells hinged bands, I think, for about $15.00 each. He already has at least one band.

The good ones are $60/set, or $34 each. I'm not sure he wants to take the strap off hils old BC.

Either way, when you add in the necessary, not included accessories, the price goes up from $330.

I'm not arguing. When you figure in what the cost of the Halcyon system would be with a shell/bladder wing, the Hacyon system goes up too. NESS sells both and I bet they'd be happier to sell the Halcyon. The DR seems like a good value uless you don't like the DR.

For argument's sake, you're comparing apples to oranges. The Halcyon Eclipse comes with an STA, two high quality stainless steel cam bands, and a two-piece bladder that comes with 30 or 40 lbs of lift

The Dive Rite setup does not include an STA, does not include cam bands, and has a one-piece bladder with 30 (or less) lbs of lift. By the time you add an STA and the quality SS cam bands, the price difference si much smaller.. and smaller still if you compare to the more comparable Pioneer wings, which also include SS cam bands and a built-in STA.

I admit I haven't seen it, but I wouldn't want to use the Venture without an STA, especially with those nice big gromets for the tank to sit against.

Regardless, the Dive Rite setup isn't as great a value as it looks. $330 + $120 for STA and cam bands gives you $450, which is much less of a deal.

What do you mean? It has a shell and separate bladder.
The Venture wing? I don't think so.

I stand corrected.

If it's a donut-shaped inner bladder, how is it removed from the outer covering?

Full zipper around the inside edge.
