Hi Guys
I am so sorry. It appears in my haste I have forgotten to include the link: Here it is.

Hey guys
A bit more on my circumstances:
I recently got my Advanced Open Water, and I am looking to do a lot more dives. I want to eventually be able to do Dive Master. I live in Montreal, Canada, so there will be a lot of cold water water diving. Most of the time I will be diving locally, which will be a lot of fresh water, but once a year during vacation I figured I would go dive somewhere a bit more spectacular, like Red Sea, bahamas etc.

I am going to Maldives this coming Feb.
So I had a chance to walk around to two of dive shops in Montreal. And here is what they offered (discounts included), console not included because I forgot to ask about it. (actually shop A's owner caught that mistake while shop B didn't say a word):
shop A:
zeagle stiletto BCD (back inflate), for 611.99 (

HOG D2 Cold water Reg set, 1st and 2nd stage, 539.99
cressi-sub lontra 2 piece 7mm, semi-dry wetsuit 539.99
total is 1691.97 before tax
shop B:
henderson, 2 piece, semi-dry, 7mm, wetsuit 439.95
Mares Hybrid BCD (side inflate) 449.95 (

Sheerwood magnum 2012 (octopus, console) 549.95
total is 1439.85 before tax
option C: leasurepro website sheerwood deal

for shop A, the owner showed me his zeagle stiletto, and I really liked how compact, and mod-able it is. Its also lasted him 7 years and he hasn't replaced it yet. It has no backplate, it is packs tighter and a bit lighter. and it is modular. He showed me where all connection places are and how to adjust it for different type of gear. As for the Hog, apparently they don't do a lot of advertising, and is an APEX clone at cheaper price. The wetsuit is the just that, its semi-dry the shop owner really liked that one.
for shop B, the Mares Hybrid BCD is also packs small and has a foldable plastic backplate. so it packs pretty small as well. It also has a LOT of D rings. I counted 6. The wetsuit is a semi dry as well, and if i recall, has better knee pads then the cressi. The sheerwood magnum looks like your run of the mill regs and doesn't really have anything special to it. The sales rep spent barely 10 seconds on it. It does have a flow control valve.
so now I have 3 options. Price wise option C for sure, but diving is one of those things where I want to be careful and not cheap out on something.
So guys, feel free to ask me questions or point out stuff that you think I should have considered.
Thanks a lot guys.
