Does anyone know of an online listing for the proof marks hydrostatic testing companies are assigned? I am assuming, and we all know that joke, that when a facility is approved to perform hydros they are assigned a unique stamp that identifies them. This stamp is what we examine when checking to see if the hydro is current. I could be wrong on all of this.

I don't understand. What is the joke you mention?

Mudbug is joking about asses and assumptions.

The 4 characters in a square format RIN is only for US DOT hydrostamps. Canadian stamps are reciprocally accepted and their database is here Transport Canada Registered Means of Containment Facilities

Probably doesn't apply to the OP but at least in my neighborhood it's common to see US DOT and TC stamps moving back and forth between BC and WA/OR
