Is the 3+ focus fixed?

Hi all, I am looking to buy my second gopro. I currently use a Hero 2 and wanted to upgrade to a silver 3+ with the flat lens. I almost bought one, until I saw all these reviews on terrible focus. Have they fixed this by now and how do I make sure I don't buy one with the focus issues?

In short, yes, but only if you buy from a reseller with recent stock. The issue was fixed a few months ago in the UK but some resellers are still selling old stock.
