Saw this fish the other day. It had this trailing out from under it for ages and it was still attached when I wandered off. I'm sorry for the poor quality photos - I just wanted to remind myself about it and didn't care about a good shot...now I regret that, of course!
don't look like it is affecting the fish. maybe its sperm
