They no longer make the BP with handles. They thought it was something that would be popular, but it was not, so it's no longer available.
Ahhh, well I spoke to a nice lady on the phone and she made it seem like they just didn't have any in-stock. I didn't want them anyway so I didn't ask questions.

$12.50 for shipping is pretty cheap! especially for 12-13lbs. I just (ground) shipped a pair of SB Twinjets (6lbs.) yesterday and it cost me $17.95 :11:

I don't think they make the handled ones any more. Great inexpensive plate, though.

HiJack! :mooner:

If you don't have an account with a service, I've found if you are shipping heavy and/or big, go FEDEX. My buddy shipped a tank for about $20. I shipped a pair of fins for around $10. For small lightweight stuff, USPS as FedEx rarely comes in under $8 for anything it seems. I've not found UPS to be competitive at all for anything.

FedEX also has much more built-in insurance (I think $100), and lower insurance rates vs. USPS. For expensive camera gear I use FedEX.

Back to your normally scheduled show! :D

Ed from Hammerhead called me last night to tell me they are back up an running with the website but had to change their address due to some domain issues.
The new web address is: www.hammerheadbackplates.com.
He said they are also working on some new designs including a low profile and a travel plate.

Ed said to to tell eveyone at Scubaboard thanks for all the support and kind comments over the years.

All I can say is the prices are good but the model it better. I want her to be my dive buddy.

isnt it the same model?
