i am wondering if it is possible to dive the dreamgate cenote in May. i think last year it was 'out of the rotation' of cenotes being allowed to dive perhaps. We dove Dos Ojos a few years ago, and would now like to dive dreamgate and will be down there in may. does anyone know? we dove with hidden worlds when we went before. thx

we dived DreamGates in March last year. We used Nicholas - Cenotexperience. You might want to check with him.
It's a very nice cenote but should not be open to general public as it is very small and tight in many places. It is also very pristine as most dive guides won't take people there unless they are sure of their skill.

thanks for the info:) i'll check it out.

Dream Gates was open to the public in 2008. It is one of the best preserve caverns in the area, because not many people dives there, like in others cenotes. The cavern is fully decorated, with amazing stalactite and stalagmites, and allows 2 different dives, upstream and downstream. Very good buoyancy and trim are required to avoid damages in this beautiful place.

By "open to the public", does this mean one can dive there without a guide?

cenotexperience........we were down there probably about 3 yrs ago and dove Dos Ojos........and the guide told us our buoyancy control was such that indeed he would take us to dreamgate......but we had other plans made already for the rest of our short stay. we are coming down there in may and are really hoping to dive dreamgate..........is it not open for diving in 2010??

Hi TSandM
Being open to the public, means that full cave divers and different dive operations, with certified full cave divers as a guide, can entry to this place to perfom a dive in a cave or lead a cavern tour.
Cheers
