I primarily dive North Florida springs and the ocean from Jacksonville to the Keys, and I'm very comfortable in a 3mm. I must add that I'm the guy that keeps his thermostat at 72 in the summer, so I don't get very cold!

I do have a tendency to get cold...
You don't want to go crazy thick, but remember it's easier to cool down if you're a tad warm (tug neck open a bit to let in cool water) than to warm up once cold. A 5/4 is not THAT much thicker than the 3mm that many wear, so it should be fine.
I do have a tendency to get cold, but is 5/4 (Pinnacle Fusion) just too much? Would i be better served with a 3mm and hooded vest if needed? I can get the Pinnacle Fusion or Seal (Merino linning) for $170/$160. Thanks homies.
