As its stinger season in WA, is diving still possible at Ningaloo Reef in December? Sure don't want to meet the dreaded Irukandji.

I was able to avoid them on the Great Barrier Reef, but am hoping its safe to dive there on our vacation.

No stinger season here so you don't need to worry about that. They do get them further north, but a whole lot further north.

Diving in December is great - I love that time of year. Mating turtles, water warming up, lots of reef activity, some totally calm afternoons, hot daytime temps, warm nights - gorgeous...can't wait!

Thanks -- that's just what I hoped to hear. Can't wait to get there.

As I am not planning on bringing my scuba gear (bc/reg/wetsuit etc) on this trip and am wondering if the rental gear is in "o.k." condition at the Exmouth dive shops!

I really hate to dive without my own equipment, but this time it will be too difficult to bring it all (just my favorite mask).

Thanks again.
