A decidedly determined woman has retaken a decidedly unusual type of world diving record.
Technical diver Louise Trewavas takes great pride in her deep ironing, so on hearing that an upstart Briton called John Rudolf had bettered her 100m Extreme Ironing Bureau's world scuba depth record by 29m, she knew she had to take action.
She duly took advantage of a trip to Dahab in Egypt to set her ironing board up at 137m. "Records are there to be broken, but the boys will have to do better than that if they want to beat me," said Louise, who dived on an APD Inspiration rebreather.
So are women best at the underwater ironing? Wise male divers will leave the argument there!
