Hello everyone!
I just joined ScubaBoard. I started diving in July 2011 when I did the PADI OW and have become a PADI Rescue Diver in January 2012. I am Dutch and currently based in Thailand where I worked in human rights and development, but I will be moving out soon. Where? Suggestions are welcome. I have a little over 1000 US$ to spend on diving and surviving (accommodation & food) and I would like to do my DMT in the area (Indonesia, Malaysia, Filippines). It would be nice to pay for DMT and living and then stay on to earn a little money back or at least so I can stretch my time in tropical areas.
Let me know if you have any tips!

Hoi,

In Indonesia and the Philippines most of the the DM work is done by local guides, oftentimes with a couple of 1000 dives under their belt in specific areas. This doesn't mean that it's completely impossible to find work as a DM in these countries but it won't be easy to find.
A great location can be Oceans 5 on Gili Air, they include a period of free diving during your DM training and they're also a Dutch owned company.
Feel free to pm me if you need any more information on either option you like to follow.
