Dear Scuba Board:

I have been lurking around these forums for about a year now. I have used it to research trips and read some stories while bored. The reviews here allowed me to properly plan an awesome 5 day trek to Turks & Caicos last December with a buddy and dive with Caicos Adventures which was the my best dive experience to date. Probably spoiled me - and I will definitely be back to T&C again. This forum also helped me identify where to dive in Zanzibar (Mnemba Atoll) and pick the right trips that include travel companions who don't dive.

Last week I went to Barbados with a lady friend so I will provide some reviews soon. The information at SB on Barbados was incredibly helpful. Because there has been a lack of trip reports to this destination when compared with others I decided to sign up and add some useful information to people who are (or thinking about) heading there. I will do that in the coming days.

I have also dived some spots with less info here - Taganga Colombia, Mnemba Atoll Zanzibar, Silfra Iceland, and Hoi Anh Vietnam. Probably will post some info there just for other people out there who may find themselves in those areas...

I currently have about 32 dives under my belt and just obtained my AOW in Barbados. I certainly consider myself a beginner and the AOW certification was done to improve skills that I will need - drift / wreck / deep / buoyancy / nav. In the coming months I'm also looking to buy a BCD & Regulator set up to add to my fins, mask, and wetsuit so I have the basic equipment.

I am thinking about doing a Caribbean liveaboard (would travel alone) some time in November / December but with my job I can't really tell if I can take vacation, switch roles, or even have a job by year's end...so we shall see.

Just wanted to formally greet the community before I make a few other posts about these destinations I have been in.
