Just a quick note to say Hi to everyone who's posts I have been avidly reading over the last month or so.

I was a holiday diver until this summer when the lure of the seas around sunny England finally overcame the shock at the price of having to kit up :)

After a good summer diving wet, decided to go dry and have never given so many people so much to smile about. My improvised ascent on my first dry suit dive is still being talked about (laughed at?) in the bar on club nights and the DO has my dry suit as he wanted to check if there wasn't a hidden hose straight from the inflator to the dump after I got through a 12ltr in 19 minutes.

Currently PADI AOW, just finishing my BSAC Sport diver and hopefully onto the dizzying heights of Dive Leader in the new year. Aspirations to become a Club instructor severely tempered by my dry suit experiences. Lots more practice needed.

Good to have another UK based diver on the board.
Check out the UK wreck ferrets thread and don't give up with the drysuit they are quite hard to get used to at first, but once mastered you will never look back, especially if you are diving the UK wrecks.

:hi: And welcome to Scuba Board. It's a fun place to learn, compare, argue. :thumb:

Laughing at ones self is always fun. :HAHAHA: I tried dry suit dives last year at a DUI fieldday, and got inverted once, but rolled out. Going to another this weekend.

Looking forward to your posts. When you see fights break out around here, though :boxing: just enjoy the show....

....for the welcome.

Guy, I am located in the South East and currently do most of my diving around the South Coast, out of Shoreham and Newhaven. Took a quick look at your website, nicely put together.

Don, would have rolled out but was ABOVE the surface before I knew it and rolling in air just looks plain silly.

I have already picked up some good tips from the board, also already getting to know whos advice can be useful and who should be taken a little more lightly.

Now, about this DIR stuff.....

See you around

Enjoyed your introduction, and looking forward to your contributions regarding some of your more successful diving experiences.

Hi Mark, you're in a v. good area for diving down on the south coast. If you get the oppurtunity you might like to have a look west of where you are down to the purbecks area. Swanage has an excellent shore dive around the pier and there are several sites such as kimmeridge bay which are also shallow n safe for trying out skills in ow for your dry suit.
Saying that I tend to dive in the uk in a semi-dry but then I'm always the one *****ing about the cold! lol

Hi mate,
You better to off the dry suit, and start diving in equitorial weather. Keep your bones dry and beer chill!! Enjoy:doctor:

You have a great sense of humor! I hope you'll share more of your experiences!

Have you tried a dry suit again? I'm chicken. I think I still need to work on a few things wet.

What kind of nudibranchs do you have over there?

Welcome to the board from Gozo, Malta, from another Mark. Will be in London for the Dive show in March so I hope the weather is as good as here.
