Intova to Ikelite Housing
Looking at the Intova ISS 4000 and StaySlim bracket for my Ikelite 6242.95 (PowerShot S95) housing. The housing does not have a "tripod sized" female attachment.

Any help on what size it is, whether the tripod screw in the Intova tray can be replaced, and/or what other tray/flex arm combo might work with both the housing and strobe.

Thanks!

PS My fault, but someone COULD have mentioned the Ikelite has a somewhat non-standard attachment requirement.

I too have the S95 Ike housing and trying to set with ISS2000 Intova strobe. In my case, I am adapting an old Nikonos tray and arm to the Ike housing. Today I am rethreading a standard tripod bolt to attach the tray and will post a photo to show the results.

I decided I am ordering the ISS 4000 with the 30cm arm then getting a machine shop to make a tray that will fit (really just a flat piece 1"x3/8" by 10 or so with about 1/16 off the width where the arm fits). I will attach it with the 12-24 x 1/2 SS machine screws I finally tracked down on the net. Had to by 100 of the suckers. If anyone needs some we can work something out for postage.

Came across this problems as well - had Intova Flex arms which I was using on a Canon housing. The mounting thread is different on the Ikelite, it has two mounting points and the mount doesn't prevent a single mounted strobe from rotating.

The Intova mounting bolts are 12-24 x 0.5" (American size). Sourced these from a dive shop in the UK - Ikelite part #0333.6.

I have two of the Flex Arms (and two trays), got a friend to do up this plate to join both. If you only have one you could still use this setup to prevent rotation of the strobe arm, placing the plate between the tray and the housing.

Here's the dimensions of the plate;

The small holes only need to take 4mm bolt and the large ones need to take the 12-24 bolt (5.334mm) so you could reduce the drill size closer to that if you're making to a good acuracy. Played it safe here.

The small threaded holes on the Intova tray are M4, used for M4 x 10mm bolts here. No need for bolts.

Still waiting for the Ikelite bolts to arrive but the tray seems very solid, will be testing on a dive this weekend hopefully!

the good thing here is i can get fisheye trays that fit the ike housings...and now, inon, makes the 12-24 mounting screws (with the knob vice a flat head).

Any link where you can get an Inon (or other) 12-24mm bolt with the knob end? Would be handy...

I can only see it mentioned in the news blog? I don't think you can even buy direct from the Inon webpage?

yeah, i am not sure where you can get them outside of japan...i am sure some places will have them, tho. just don't know which ones.
