Intova 3w led - rechargeable batteries issue

I have a few intova 3w led torches, I wanna pick up rechargeable batteries for them, but I am completely confused.
However I did some reading on a torch forum(candle power forum) and so now I can phrase my question properly so I dont look as stupid as I feel !

Intova reccomend that we dont use rechargeable cr123 batteries as there may be a problem with the circuit or somethin, but logistics dictate that I must as I am diving for 8 months in a remote location (neil island-andaman islands).

Does anyone know what the output voltage for these torches are?

Also can I use 3.7v cr123 batteries with 1300mah, or what would be the best batteries I could use.

Any suggestions, reccomendations and help in shedding some light on this would be appreciated.

I use 3.6v rechargeables, aka 16340, without problems. Have 3 of same light.
Another .1v won't matter as most led handle higher voltages anyway as part of specs.
Higher mah just means last longer.
You can check dealextreme.com for batts and chargers. Use them a lot. Suggest you avoid protected vrsins of these batteries. They're a bit longer and make for a tight fit.

I have no experience with these batteries, but on DealExtreme I also see CR123A rechargeable batteries with 3.0 volts.

thanks guys, the guy an Intova says if you use rechargeable batteries it may ruin the torch.....so just to be safe bought some 3.0 v 900mah.........

You should ask them to explain how it may ruin the torch?
