Supposedly has the involvement of NOAA and the national marine sanctuaries...I guess they think this could be an efficient way to 'patrol' or monitor the various sites:

Let's see, they say "....a radically new seagoing experience. These ultralight flexible catamarans are modularly designed..." Basically just a catamaran with upright bows to lift off of waves and a flexible structure that will adapt to the sea surface. Hmmm, where might one have seen this concept before? Oh, yeah, I remember:

Seems the Polynesians were just a little bit ahead of them on this "radically new" concept. And theirs looks like it has better payload capacity!
