Just got a new BC with integrated weight system. When I store the BC on the hanger should I remove the weights from inside the slots ore leave them in ?

BC type: SQ pro QD

Thanks in advance,

Yes, remove those weights. Have a small bucket handy to toss them in. You can store them in the bucket & just grab it on the way to your dive site.

Definitely take the weight pockets out (I have a Pro QD). I try to flatten out the velcro and then store them laying flat to keep the velcro from getting all crumpled up (bad velcro = lost weights).

I found an old milk crate that I keep my weights in. Easy to lug around and self draining when you rinse the weights off.

But definitely remove the weights from the BC's pockets.

I concur with the divers above. You should take the weights out of the BC when you store it. It will probably save you lot of wear on your BC.

Take the weights out...and rinse them REAL good! I've found out the hard way the soft weights can get that "funk" smell too. If you are are not going diving for a while, rinse them in water with a little vineger. That will take care of any mildew.

Thanks,

They have been removed. I am kind of glad cause the weights were bending the hanger pole !!

Talk to you later,
