I have a new bc that includes integrated weights in the BC. My dive buddies don't like my new bc because it makes it more difficult for them to get my BC out of the water (we take our bcs off in the water before we get back on the boat).

Question ... which do you find better ... integrated weights, the regular weight belt or a combo of both depending on the diving?

what about integrated weight harness...?

I guess I qualify as having integrated style weights, but it it's integrated into my BC, thus the problem you mention is not an issue. Also depending on the BC it can be easy to remove the weights and hand them up to the boat before you get out of the water.

Guys, I apologize. I searched for this thread before posting and did not find anything. Now, after posting, I see several postings. These threads helped me with my delimina. Thanks anyway.

I used brand name Seacsub pro200 with integrated weight belt, but will say depend on the diving situation.

Just climb the boat ladder with your BC on. What is the big deal? Too small of a boat to have a ladder?

Yes, we have a 25 foot World Cat and a 45 foot Ocean. It's much easier to climb back in on both without the BC.

Hi, Since you are asking for opinions. I think the integrated weights are a bad idea because the weights are hard to release (especially by a tired diver who's struggling), the bc is is heavier to pull out of the water (I agree with your buddies) and if you ever have to take your bc off underwater you and the bc will go in opposite directions.

For shorter people, like me, there is very little room for a weight belt below the BC, and the BC waist belt/cummerbund tends to push the weight belt down or even off. I therefore love integrated weights.

My buddy who happens to be my husband agrees with you completely. I also never thought about taking the bc off under water. Hmmm. I really learn a lot from this board :05:
