I have a SS OMS backplate, and I want to install a handle on it to make it easier to haul out of the water, and to give it something to hang by for drying. Anyone have any good ideas on how to do this?

A piece of 1" webbing looped through the horizontal slots at the top of the plate maybe?

do you have access to metal and welders and experience with metal fabrication? if not then a webbing handle is probably your only option. I would offer to fab one for you but I lost my job at the fab shop.

welding one on would be easiest of course but something could be made to bolt on also.

I prefer to just grab it by the shoulder straps with one hand and under the tanks with the other hand. I use a standard BC hanger for drying.

FredT and hammerhead both cut handles into the side of the plate which is another option but a plasma cutter or a drill press and cut off disc or a milling machine would be necessary for that.

if you had a water jet you could design a cool bolt on/weld on handle or cut handles into the plate. Man I wish I had a waterjet.
