Ok here is what Im looking for.
A vacation spot for the first two weeks of July.
A 6-8 hour drive From the Flint michigan area
Has Campgounds
Some diving
large bodies of water for personal watercraft.
Some cool site seeing opportunities for when not diving or Jetskiing.

Ok lets have it. give your places youve been or heard about and please if at all possible include websites.

Thanks and much appreciated.

hmmm.... Add an hour or so and go to the 1000 Islands area of the St. Lawrence River. I've never stayed there but have done the touristy boat tour of the 1000 Islands and Bolt Castle on a day I wasn't able to dive in Kingston. There seemed to be campgrounds on both the Canadian and American sides. Not sure what the diving in the area is like - might want to ask on the OFWF club or Lake Effects sub-forum if you don't get any input here. & Kingston is about an hour away and has some of the best diving in the Great Lakes - Schooner country! & Brockton can't be far away.

If I think of anything else I'll post again.

So I guess you're not making trucks during shut down.

We aren't working either so I'm doing a 4 day camp out in Hocking forest (southern OH)w/ rock climbing/rappelling, kayaking and some swimming for the Boyscouts.
Also planning a 4 day kayak trip down the Muskingum river to the Ohio river.

did u get your window fixed yet?

Hey Ted,

Actually, Scuba North has some great charters to the Manitou Islands and the Straits of Mackinac you could check into.
;)

Ted, have u toured much of OH or PA?

how about a road trip and 3 days or so in different areas?

Tim,
No were not making trucks during shut down Thank god. I need the break.

We have been doing this two week shut down for many years now and have run out of things to do. We cant decide this year what to do. It will be hard to beat last years we went to Cancun pretty descent diving there hehe. I know what I want to do but the wife doesnt dive so I have to mix in the places that have descent touristy stuff also. we thought about doing some road trip stuff but dont want to spend the whole two weeks driving. Not to mention the logistics of staying overnight you seen my bunkhouse then when you add the jetskiis on the back of that you need a pretty good acre to park and a lot of smaller campgrounds just dont have the room. I like to find a campgound as a central location then do the stuff from their.

How about the Lake Erie Islands -- South Bass ( Put-In-Bay ), Kelleys Island, Middle Bass, Pelee Island ( Canada ) the Port Clinton, Catawba area etc.
