Inon versus Sea & Sea

Hi,

what's the difference between the fiber optic cable ports (on the camera housing) that are required for Inon versus Sea & Sea strobes? My camera housing works with the Sea & Sea cables, but that would mean only the YS-01 or YS-02 could be used ... those are great strobes (correct me if I am wrong), but I'd love to have the option of going with Inon too.

You can get fiber optic cables with both types of end fittings. It is easy to get a S&S camera side to an Inon strobe side cable (Nauticam sells them) or you can easily make your own.

If all you need is the Inon end, you can get the bushings for $3 or so; but the XIT product is lots sexier.

I agree with Bill. I have a SnS 110a and an Inon Z240-3 and built the cables myself. Cost less than $10. There is no problem whichever way you want to go.

You also have the YS-110a -- I struggled with the 110a VS 240 and went with a pair of 100As. Power is almost the same (GN 22 vs 24) and the 110a was priced much better.... I also prefer the center-mounted focus light with the 3 tubes around it better than the 240's two tubes in a "T" arrangement.... Both strobes are excellent and you will not go wrong with either.
