I have bought an INON s2000. I received it and after a few flashes the front resulted in some stain behind the front cover. I returned it and supposedly got a new one (I am checking on this) and again the same issue (actually worse). Has anybody seen something similar???? :(
here are the pics of the stains on the first shipment .

I think I got a specimen of S2000 which may not handle flashes or overheats too easily. I am now being told that it should not be flashed on land but I never had such a problem before with some out of the water testing.

That's absurd. There's no way NOT to test them before getting in the water. If this is the excuse the manufacturer is using, seems like a different manufacturer should be considered.

I have 2 Inon S2000s and don't have that problem. I do a lot of testing above water.

Who did you buy it from? Did it have the stain when it arrived the first time? the second time?

I just looked at mine. No such marks at all.

I suggest you send an email directly to Inon for their opinion.

Thanks for your feedback. I also think it is a bit strange that this type of strobo is so sensitive. Even the instructions from INON stress out not to do more than multiple shooting (10) in less than 30 seconds, but that is awfully hard to do.

Maybe I just got a bad sample but after years of "no problems" online shopping I may ended up with a bad reseller. I will wait for his final word on how he wants to take care of this but if he does not he will not get any good publicity for sure.
