It's open, at least it used to be - haven't been in years. People have been ice diving there for ages. Just know the viz has been deteriorating, and don't know if it's worthwhile anymore.
 
I was there too sometime early Sept and the viz was pretty bad at that time too. Bit of a waste unless the viz has cleared up a little.
 
from what i've seen on innerkip id stay away. I have however heard that vis in winter is better, some people i know took an ice diving course there last winter.
 
I don't think I'd go back again. Maybe for ice diving if the viz cleared up. I just remember diving in pea soup and having my gear stink, even after washing it out. Took a few dives in Kingston to get rid of the smell.
 
There is a phone number somewhere on the web for innerkip. You can call them and ask them how the vis is. They get reports from divers all the time and are quite accurate.

I was there in the summer/fall and did the mine shaft. vis was about 6 or 7 feet. But not in the shaft. Vis was 0-.5 as there was another group in there before us. Deffinatly a brail dive.
