If the inflator is replaced with a inflator/regulator
Does the deflator cord connected from the inflator to the back dump valve still work? How is it connected?

Usually there is a stainless steel pin in the connector that goes under the corrugated hose that a loop of the cord goes around to enable this. All of the integrated inflater/regs have them.

How do you get the cord off the old inflator? Is there a pin there too? I dont have it in front of me right now.

Yep, the pin just pushes out. The hose is what normally holds the pins in place. There are two sizes of pins and occassionally you have an inflator with a fat pin that needs to go in a very small loop in the pull dump cable. Worst case you will have to make a new cable with bigger loops, but this is easily done.
