Im sorry, but no its not. A $1000 camera has a lot more features and a significantly larger image sensor.A smartphone housing just recently came out called 'Watershot'. It's $100 and I used it for a couple dives and got some great shots of lionfish, coral and a moray eel. Plus, later on when you get more money you can but a lens attachment for it if you want more high tech pics. It's like having a $1000 camera for cheaper.
Considering CESS is at the root of words like cesspool and abscess, are you sure it is something you'd want to find?Most people have no trouble finding the SUC part of the equation: it's the CESS portion that's hard to find.
I suggest a used Canon and its used Canon housing. Used G9 or G10 camera's would not be too much. Someday, I will sell my used G9 since I dive with a DSLR now.
