Hi,

First let me say my underwater photography consists of taking “snap-shots” with a digital camera and I am not interested in spending the money to move much beyond this point. I have been using a Cannon SD-1000 (with the Cannon housing) for the past few years to take my underwater snap-shots and would like to obtain an inexpensive strobe for it to reduce back-scatter. This strobe needs to be one that will work with any digital camera, in case I decide to change cameras. I am leaving for my annual trip to Bonaire in April and any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

I dive with someone that has excellent results with the Ike AF35 strobe. The Sea&Sea YS-01 looks like a good option also. Both are under 600 with strobe, arm and fiber optic cable ( on the YS)

You will need a tray also. This is a good deal. I almost bought it, but decided to just not do photography and work on my diving instead. Plus I would need to buy a housing for my D300, which is three times what the camera costs.

I have a YS-110 in near perfect condition I would be willing to sell. PM if you are interested. Not going to be inexpensive but cheaper than a new YS-110.

hi I use an Intova strobe IS-2000 with an Intova camera with a fibre optic cable and get really god pictures strobe is quite powerful so have changed the EV setting to -1 to compensate for the powerful strobe.
