Does anyone have coordinates for natural ledges closer inshore off Indian Rocks and/or Bunces Pass? We need one more site for each location to survey as our list had coordinates, but they turned out to be artificial sites (we need natural ledges for monitoring). Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Thought to add a little more info - the benthic monitoring that we (FWC) are conducting involves the surveying of natural ledges to document the recovery from the 2005 red tide event.

So, if you happen to have numbers for any inshore natural ledges or areas off Indian Rocks or Bunces, please PM me. Any info (coordinates) that we can compare to the sites we already have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nancy,

What depth and type of structure are you looking for?

Ty

We're looking for natural ledges or reef areas (nothing artificial) that are at least 50 m in length. The sites we have now are mostly 11-18 miles out and in depths of 40+ feet. If you have any site numbers we can compare to, please let me know. Thanks!

I have some rocky areas off Indian Shores but I've never dove them. They are more like hard bottom areas that hold fish in the winter. I couldn't say there is much structure there. These are mostly in the 25' depth range.

Natural hard bottom, rocky areas are what we're monitoring (some sites actually have a 2-4 foot relief, which makes for interesting things to see). Would you send over the numbers so I/we can compare them to the Indian Rocks sites that we've already sampled? Thanks!
