We have arranged a 3 day, 4 dive trip from Goa to Netrani (Pigeon Island) with Dive Goa.
Can we rely on the rental gear included in the package or will it be necessary for us to take our own (which I'd prefer, but the logistics would be extremely difficult)

Is it customary to tip dive masters in India and if so, how much? Is it customary to tip a guide who might accompany us and if so, how much?

What you are paying by Indian standards is a lot of money. Indians as a rule never tip. I carried gear around in India on a couple of trips, it's a pain but doable. Dive Goa is one of the higher regarded ops in Goa, your gear will likely suit you better though. After living in India for two years, I wouldn't trust the maintenance from any Indian dive operator.
