Hey all, currently in Merida where I've done some cenote diving. Off to Cozumel soon for 4-5 ish days diving there. I have a little less than a week at the end of my trip which I had originally planned to use going to Xcalak or Mahahual with the intention of visiting Banco Chinchorro and chilling with some crocodiles and/or manatees. Learned that XTC is closed, and also heard from a local DM here Mahahual shops often have a hard time filling BC trips and that there are many days now when they can't leave to BC due to weather. I am a solo traveler, and definitely can't afford to pay extra to go alone.

My alternative option is more Cenotes in PDC and possibly finding a place to do TDI Cavern. I was pretty amazed by my cenote experience and am super tempted to go with this. But I do love unique megafauna experiences.

Any thoughts? Is what I hear about Mahahual true or are there shops currently reliably going to banco? Or should I go with the caverns?

If it matters, 72 dives, AOW (but a lot of that in difficult cold water conditions), and felt very comfortable on my first cenote dives. DM here didn't think I'd have a problem with the first few cave dive levels but who knows.
