Hi,

We went out last weekend to the PT Teti. Captain John took us there safely in the Argonaut (nice diving boat). If you need a trip with them contact the Shop Giant Stride in RI. Dennis, RIO and CO were already anchored.

The forecast did not look that great for the day and have to do a early start 7AM. Which worked out pretty well because as soon as we finished diving the winds picked up significantly.

In our way out to the holly diving grounds we came across a frenzy feeding. RED spotted fins on the surface and upon a more diligent investigation we noticed few dozen of Dog Sharks (yes I know fish). They were feeding out of some weird drifting something..maybe RIO can tell what it is from the video.

Well we started our dive, not the best vis on this wreck ever. But, overall good vis around 10-15. Sorry, dunno the water temp since I bought my Weezle Extreme +. I had many little incidents on the dive and was not very happy, but managed. The dive ended with no other news except RED and John got good dinner. After my few incidents (almost lost a fin, watery mask, loose video reflectors) I decided not to do the second dive on the Neptune. Apparently the vis was awesome according to my dive buddies, which is very unusual for this wreck.

By the way if you have not been to the Neptune is a nice fishing boat which is resting on his side. It its a little bit disorienting at first but almost intact. this is the almost have to do after the PT Teti.

Well enjoy the video....

There are a few shots (for example at 0:21 into the video) where you can see that at least some of it was a type of ctenophore called Pluerobranchia (aka sea gooseberry). The rest is too out of focus for me to be able to say for sure if there were any other species in that cloud.

Here is what Pluerobranchia looks like close up:
