Has anyone got a good big clear image of a lobster hook? Preferably saying how long the hook is, or including e.g. a ruler, so I can see the length. The best image that I found with Google was http://i15.ebayimg.com/02/i/08/7e/13/37_2.JPG

(I am British and I do not know how big USA coins are.)

Most WWW references to "lobster hook" mean a sort of small clasp for necklaces and fashion clothes.

The hook in this image can transform between a lobster hook and a flatfish spike by sliding the handle along.

Bent bit of metal coathang is all you need.

Straight line then a curve on the end so it goes back on itself.

As for size, depends what sort of holes are around the area, maybe long or short etc.

At a push a snorkel can be used as a makeshift one (if you're dull enough to have one on a dive with you, may as well use it for SOMETHING useful)

30cm long for straight big is a good size to start playing with

yeah we sell them, will try and send you a photo of 1 tomorrow
