Hi all,
My company will be launching a new scuba-related line of products in the near future. One of my tasks is to acquire the rights to a small number (five to ten) of photographs depicting various underwater scenes (sharks, turtles, etc.).
Having never done this before, I have no idea what the average level of compensation is for a hi-res photograph. Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate on what I can expect to pay for these photos? I'll need the images within the next couple of months, but at this point I need some numbers to plug into my business plan to show the boss.
At some point in the future I'll be using many of my own photographs, but based on the quality of my first efforts with my new SP-350 and housing in Coz (post to follow in a couple of days), it may be a while. In the meantime, I'll need to rely on folks with actual talent for the images.
So any estimates, suggestions, WAGs on what I might expect to pay for some quality images?
Thanks for any help,
David
