Monkey, That should be a slogan.

No kidding.

If I could pay list price for my car and get the same service I got for paying list price on my regs, I'd be standing in line at the car dealer with my wallet open.

When you go in to a clothes store do you ask the lady at the desk for a rebate? "I have bought Abercrombie here before do you think you could knock 10$ off my sweater"

When looking at a meal on a menu and you see 15$ are you expecting to see 10$ on the bill because you've eaten there before?

If there was a sale advertised and he charged you full price, then you can complain.

Just because you bought something before does not entitle you to a rebate. He could offer one if he wanted and you could ask for one and hope for a favorable reply but to EXPECT one without asking?

Be a bit more responsible for yourself and your money. Don't go blaming a shop because you weren't diligent.

Such insight from one so young. ;)

The lines are clearly drawn for each to make their own decision. Want price, buy from the internet. Want to negotiate price, ask. IMHO, the real question is total cost of ownership & percieved value versus price. To each his/her own...

Can a ScubaPro dealer sell a reg at less than suggested retail? I thought they couldn't. LP gets away with it by offering their warranty/service in place of ScubaPro's.
leisure pro IS NOT a Scuba Pro authorized dealer. No authorized dealer can sell below the minimum price set by the manufacturer. If they do, they will lose their status as an authorized dealer.
leisure pro buys the product from black market suppliers. retailers like leisure pro screw up an industry for dealers, consumers and manufacturers and I dont care what the product is.

Carribean, I have to say I have had great experiences using the Leisurepro offered warranties which match the manufacturer warenties. So thatseems like a very broad statement putting them down. Keep in mind if your in NY Leisurepro can be your LDS as well.

Good If you paid a full price to your LDS. You know there are many kinds of buyers. Everyone can't be same.

But, make sure you will get the right treatment as you paid full.... Some LDS forgot it after collecting all balance from the customer.

I know one guy keeps buying the stuff from the LDS to get into their inner circle and to get the owner happy. But, I don't think he gets a right treatment as much as he paid so far... LOL~~~

Yea it really shouldnt take much for good treatment, a good dive shop owner knows even if you only spent a couple hundred the first time the good treatment could lead to more.
Personally I don't care when I go to a diveshop I support, i'm not looking for a friend i'm looking for a buisnessman who will treat me well if I treat him well, thats all I don't mind him doing it just for the hope of future sales, he certainly does not need to do it out of real feelings. LOL

Great... I am not only one who thought in that way.. Some stupid LDS don't understand it. So, they lost $5K from the begining.... LOL~~~

Yea man I mean some people seem to want real friendship, not necessary if it happens thats cool, but to be honest, I send my students to the shops i'm friends with I don't shop there myself, its hard to be friends with the guy then decide to buy it from someone else if its cheaper. Its simply a buisness relationship and people need to remember that.

The extent of the LDS owner caring about you needs to be to provide you with quality safe equiptment so you come back and buy more.

.

LOL~~ I did the same thing. But, I don't mix the friendship and business deal.
Once it is messed up, it is done based on my experience. That's another reason why I don't do any financial trade between friends.
