So its Friday and i weasel myself out of the last hour of work. I'm happy I only have one more day at work and then it's time to head for Monterey to do some diving then head to Pt. Lobos for the first time on the 9th and 10th (reservations made almost three months ago).Well not five minutes after I get home (early) I go and break a bone in my foot. Now i can't dive for four to six weeks.
This will be the longest stretch of no diving for me since I was certified!!
I guess the only diving for me will be on Deep Sea Detectives. Well I hope everyone has safe and enjoyable dives

Although I didn't break a bone, I feel your pain! I had surgery almost 2 wks ago, not sure how long before I can dive again, but for sure at least 2-4 more wks. However, my dr. has agreed that while I shouldn't lift heavy objects, I should be fine to don/doff in the water in our local quarry, so that should speed things up some. No waves to knock me down like in the ocean, so should be safe enough. Sorry you're out of diving for so long, mchrisk. Here's hoping your recuperation will be even faster and you'll be blowing bubbles soon. Take care.

Awww, my sympathies! That really sucks!

New product line: the cast fin? Plastic covering which protects the cast which terminates into a fin, attached old-fashioned rollerskate style to the bottom of the cast?

Or those hand-fins they show in the OW videos?

Get well soon!

Cast Fins and a Dive Sherpa would be the way to go. I have to go in for major foot surgery in September and the tough part will be the 6 to 8 week heal time. If I can just find a way to get my fin over the boot and get someone else to carry all my gear I'll be fine.

So who gets your Pt Lobos reservations?

Um, in all seriousness, sorry to hear about your injury. My sympathies go out to you. When I broke my foot years ago it was awful. Unlike an arm or hand, a foot or knee injury affects everything. I hope that your recovery is quick and complete.

I feel with you Chris. I just got back in the water after being dry for over 5 weeks (cold and minor op), it is the biggest bummer.

Hope you find enough to fill you scuba time...and you foot - heal FAST!

Thank you all very much. I do like the fin cast idea. The Pt. Lobos reservations didn't go to waste after all I talked to somebody and explained the situation and offered a note from my doctor and they let my dive buddy take the reservations.

Hey there everyone. New here. Hey MChrisK, you want me to post some pics of your footsie? well, maybe by the time you get heal up i'll be certified.
