Hello my SoCal SB friends! I just agreed to be the galley wench on the Mr. C for Saturday night, in addition to Friday night...provided we can get enough people. We've got enough to go out on Friday night already, but we don't yet have enough for Saturday night. It's a great deal - $135, air and food included. We leave at 9pm, head out to Catalina for some night diving - best time to catch bugs - and come back Sunday mid-morning.

And I promise to feed you well! :blinking: We'll have homemade lemon bars and other snacks for the ride out. I'm making homemade soups (chicken noodle and corn bisque with rosemary) for post-dive warm-ups. And for breakfast, Mr. C's famous breakfast burritos.

Friday night (lobster opening night) is usually pretty crowded out there, but not too many boats go out on Saturday night. So this is a great opportunity to do some crowd-free bug hunting.

It's an open boat, so call Pat (owner) directly to sign up. Pat's number: 818-640-9383. Let's go catch some bugs!

I can't make it (out of town wedding), but I was just curious how many dives are included for this trip....figured I'd give your thread a free bump ;)

LOL! Thanks for the bump!

Y'know, I'm not exactly sure. I think the plan is to do at least four dives, possibly 5 - two or three at night, and then two early-morning dives (as the bugs are crawling back to their holes). At least, that's the plan for Friday night, so I'm pretty sure that's the plan for Saturday night. Depends on how long we can stay awake, I guess...or how hard it is to drag ourselves outa the bunks from napping after the night dives. ;) I'll ask Pat, and post back here.

I'm HOPING I have the stamina to do all the dives! If I limit out (something I've never done even once) then I'll just bring my camera and try for some cool night shots. But I'm no spring chicken - I'm not used the whole staying-up-all-night thing anymore. I used to be able to do that...back in my wild youth... ;) I'm going to be on the boat for the whole weekend, so we'll see how well I hold out!
