I know it's illegal to clean your bugs at the beach, I'm just curious if anyone knows why. It's not like it makes a difference to me, my bug count is way low for this season.

Billy I believe its so that if DFG checks your catch you cannot verify the size of the bug without the body.

yeah, basically letting you clean lobsters on the beach is letting you dispose of evidence ... assuming the lobster are not legal
