We arrived in Bonaire on Saturday evening.
Sunday- perfect day, we did one single dive at Andrea I and everything was perfectly normal. On Monday the troubles started- my father began coughing lightly in the morning and had an irritated throat. We believed it'd pass- but it rather quickly became apparent that this was something more serious.
After consulting Liz at GRI (thanks!!) we headed to the Doc- who notified us it's probably a viral infection of some sort- and sent us home, giving us cough meds and anti-fever/pain meds. Towards the evening a rather high fever developed.
Today (the day after) the fever still returns when the pills loose their effect after roughly three hours. The cough is still present, and is non-productive, and the throat is still irritable.
I'm completely fine, and itching to dive, but I have noone to dive with! How does my fathers condition relate to diving? I've heard Chest Congestion is a rather unwanted element when it comes to diving?
The cough is very light, nothing major- and there are no breathing difficulties involved.
Thanks for any advice,
Nick
