ikelite strobe problem?

hi...
i've just dry tested my underwater camera kit for the new diving season [Canon 30D in a Ikelite 20D housing, 60mm macro, Ike ds125 strobe]
The system performed flawlessly before being packed away for winter however i now have a problem that when the shutter button is half depressed to focus etc the strobe will start flashing several times. When the button is released or a shot taken the strobe stops flashing. the picture taken is correctly exposed. Camera settings the same as before this problem. The flashing occurs in all the camera programs.
I suspect the sync chord but don't have spare to check.
Has anybody else experienced a similar problem or know what the fault is?

Is the strobe on the correct setting? I'm pretty new to the whole strobe thing but I know ours has a couple different dials. Also, is there any corrosion at the sync cord connections?

The 30D TTL protocol is different from the 20D. We would expect the strobes to autofire if a 30D is attached to the TTL electronics in a 20D housing. It's surprising you say that it worked flawlessly before (unless you were using a 20D at that time?).

If the housing is returned to us we can update the electronics to be compatible with both 30D and 20D cameras.

I did originally use a Canon 20d in the housing but then used a 30D for several months without problems. I have managed borrow another 20D body and tried it in the housing - everything works ok. I will now either buy another 20D body or send the housing for the update.
